NJ Stands Up for Parental Rights

Updated: Oct 15, 2023

As you know, I support parental rights and I'm a member of NJ Stands Up, so I'm taking this opportunity to rise your awareness and I hope you will join the cause.

NJ DEPT. OF EDUCATION VOTE ON CHAPTER 7 EXPECTED WEDNESDAY URGENT ACTION REQUESTED For several months, we have discussed the proposed changes to N.J.A.C. 6A:7, known as Chapter 7, and now the end is within sight. This Wednesday, August 2nd, the NJ State Board of Education will take a vote. (For a refresher on the issues please go to the bottom of this email.) We need YOUR HELP NOW in one final push to send a clear message to the State Board of Education Members - VOTE NO!

TWO WAYS TO TAKE ACTION Send your personal letter TODAY to: stateboardoffice@doe.nj.gov & NJParentalRights@outlook.com Tell them why you are opposed! Join us in Trenton for the LIVE VOTE. Help us show our opposition. Wednesday, August 2, 2023 10:00 am-12:30 pm NJ Department of Education. 100 Riverview Plaza Trenton, NJ 08625 CHAPTER 7 BACKGROUND INFORMATION Proposed Amendments Include:

  • Deletion of the term “equality” and replacement with “equity throughout (Page 1 - summary)

  • Elimination of gendered nouns (male/female) and pronouns with references instead to “all sexes” and “all gender identities” (Page 2 - summary)

  • Use of “more inclusive language” reflective of more specific protected categories or classes. These include: affectional or sexual orientation, genetic information, pregnancy or breastfeeding, sex, gender identity or expression, religion, disability, atypical hereditary cellular or blood trait, and more (Page 2 - summary)

  • The words “the public schools of” are proposed to be removed and the replacement would then read, “all programs and benefits provided by or offered within the school district,” thereby imposing these changes to any group that utilizes school facilities (Page 28)

Seemingly small vocabulary changes can and will have significant and wide-ranging effects impacting everything including curriculum, policy, activities, administration, and more! Negative Consequences:

  • Erasing biological sex, stripping parental rights, and silencing religious liberty

  • Gender-specific sports and activities will be open to all regardless of biology and may physically and psychologically endanger girls

  • Equity will be prioritized over education

Administrative Consequences:

  • All schools (including private and charter) will be required to comply

  • School districts will be required to hire an affirmative action officer and create a comprehensive equity plan

  • Districts not implementing the equity plan within 60 days of approval or not reporting annually will be subject to sanctions

  • Sanctions may include “action to suspend, terminate, or refuse to award continued Federal or State financial assistance…”
